Charlotte Moving TipsAt Moving Simplified, our goal is to provide you with a stress-free and cost-efficient moving experience. One of the ways we accomplish this is by providing our customers with all of the information necessary for them to be prepared to move.

“We believe that an informed customer is the best customer,” says Eric Snider with Moving Simplified. “We provide all of the information a customer needs to understand and be prepared for the moving process. Armed with this information, they are much more likely to have a stress-free moving experience.”

Below are a few tips to help you prepare for your moving experience.

Plan Ahead

Moving ChecklistSummer is the busiest time of year for most Charlotte moving companies. August and September are especially busy because of families moving before the start of their children’s school year. If you are planning to move during this period, make sure you contact your moving company as early as possible.

It is also important to coordinate all of the logistics before the move day. For example, you should arrange the move-out date and the move-in date accordingly. The last thing you want on moving day is to realize that your move-in date is the following week and you have nowhere to live for a week.

Start Packing Early

Packing will take twice as long as you expect, so start the packing process early. We can’t stress this enough. Most people underestimate the amount of items they have to pack and how long it will take them. If you foresee the weeks leading up to your move being exceptionally busy, you should consider hiring a moving company like Moving Simplified that offers professional packing services.

“It’s not uncommon to find people still packing on the day of their move,” says Snider. “When all of your belongings are put away in cabinets or closets, it can appear that you have much less to move than you actually do.”

Moving Simplified offers a variety of packing services through our Pack It™ program. This program offers services to meet clients’ specific needs, ranging from not lifting a finger to partial packing, where we step in for clients who have underestimated the amount of packing required. We also offer last-minute packing services for emergency situations.

Label Everything

Moving BoxesMake sure you label all boxes and furniture items, indicating where it goes in your new home. It’s usually a good idea to adhere the label on the side of the boxes so it can be seen when stacked with other boxes.
